This connector is for your own Claude account. It is a remote MCP server. It is not Setup MCP, which provisions a new agent at `https://mcp.voicetta.com/mcp`. Give at least one agent a phone number with outbound calling enabled. ## Connect Claude In Voicetta, open **Settings → Connect to Claude**. The page creates a connection URL for this workspace. The key inside it can already read calls and place them. You do not create a key or tick a permission yourself. ![Settings → Connect to Claude. Copy the connection URL.](/images/developers/claude-settings-connect.png) The URL looks like this: ```text https://api.voicetta.com/mcp?token=vk_live_... ``` That whole URL is the secret. Do not share it. Copy it, then: 1. **Open Claude Desktop.** Go to **Settings → Connectors**. On some versions this is **Customize → Connectors**. 2. **Add a custom connector.** Click **Manage Connectors**, then **Add custom connector**. If a Voicetta connector is already saved, remove it first. Claude does not let you change the URL afterwards. ![Add custom connector. Name it Voicetta and paste the connection URL.](/images/developers/claude-desktop-add-connector.png) 3. **Enter the details.** Name it `Voicetta`. Paste the connection URL. Choose **No sign-in**. Leave OAuth client ID, client secret, and request headers empty. ![No sign-in is selected. Do not add a request header.](/images/developers/claude-desktop-no-sign-in.png) 4. **Connect.** Click **Connect**. In a chat, open **+ → Connectors** and turn **Voicetta** on. Claude then calls `initialize` and lists two tools: | Tool | What it does | |---|---| | `voicetta_list_assistants` | Lists agents, the numbers they can dial from, and the prompt variables. | | `voicetta_get_it_done` | Starts a call. Arguments: `goal`, `to`, optional `assistant_id` and `customer_name`. Returns a `task_id`. | | `voicetta_get_task` | Reads status and the result after the call ends. | | `voicetta_list_calls` | Lists recent voice calls. | | `voicetta_get_call` | Reads one call, including the transcript this key is allowed to see. | | `voicetta_list_messages` | Lists recent SMS and WhatsApp messages. | | `voicetta_get_thread` | Reads one completed text thread. | ## Try it Ask Claude something like: > Get a refund for my stay on 12 October. Call +48 123 456 789. Use only Voicetta. Claude should call `voicetta_get_it_done`, then poll `voicetta_get_task` until status is `completed` or `failed`. If you omit `assistant_id`, Voicetta picks the workspace agent that can already dial out. ## What the agent does on the call The outbound prompt gets one extra block: accomplish `goal`. It does not answer as an inbound receptionist. Voice, number, SMS, and email tools stay as you configured them. ## If it does not connect - Authentication must be **No sign-in**. This server has no OAuth. **Sign in now** looks for an authorization server and fails. - The URL must include `?token=` and the full key. Do not also set an Authorization header. - A connector saved with the wrong URL has to be removed and added again. - The host must be `https://api.voicetta.com/mcp`, not `mcp.voicetta.com`, which is Setup MCP. - Use the URL from **Settings → Connect to Claude**. Do not build it by hand. - Outbound calling must be enabled for the agent's number. - The destination must be E.164, for example `+14155559999`. ## Related pages * [ChatGPT](/developers/chatgpt) * [Overview](/developers/overview) * [Outbound Calls API](/developers/outbound-calls) * [Dynamic Variables](/developers/dynamic-variables) * [Read API Reference](/developers/api-reference) * [Quickstart](/developers/quickstart)
